Class 17 - Mar 20

Reading Introduction

This week's reading assignment is an opportunity to watch a video rather than read. The video to screen comes from a Ted Talk by Don Levy. In the presentation, Levy gives an overview of visual effects history and how the underlying concepts are the same regardless of the technology used.

Project Work Session

promo

This class session is designated as a work day for VFX Project 1. The time should be used, as much as possible, for Post Production work on the project. Students should check-in at the beginning of class before beginning their work. You will need some work to share for our In-Progress Critique during the next class session. Be prepared with a rough edit or examples of how the content is being developed. The more work you have ready the more useful the feedback you recieve will be.

Some additional materials have been added to the VFX Project 1 page. Those include the MAGD Expo Poster - 2018, more unofficial MAGD Logos, and updates to information like location/time. These resources are available for you to use but you might also generate some yourself. In addition, all tutorial assignments for the last several weeks of class may come in useful for developing your content for this project. If you need to revisit or do any of them, that would be a good way to prepare for your project work. Also, the professor is a useful resource for many of the processes you might need to complete your work or to get feedback and suggestions.

After students/groups have checked-in or discussed their project with the professor, they may begin working.
