Class 18 - Mar 22

In Progress Critique - Project 1

Each student/group will have appx 30 minutes to prepare for our in progress critique. During that time you should prepare your project by exporting/rendering a sample of what you have done. For the critique you may have an edited sequence, a series of footage clips, some tests with effects and compositing, examples of how you are going to include type, or anything else that you have been working on for the project. We will use exported/rendered videos of your work as a way to preview and see what you are doing. It is expected that most students/groups will have more work planned, but at this stage of the project it is important to present and share what you have in order to get feedback about the project direction.

Following our preparation time, each student/group will present their work in progress to the rest of the class. This will begin by screening/showing your example rendered/exported during the beginning of class. After this is shown, the student/group may also show other content like their Premiere/AE work file to help give context to their projec if it is helpful to the process. As the rest of the class sees the work, we will open up to questions, feedback, suggestions, or other work that will constructively help the student/group in the process of developing their project.

Failing to show/share your work in progress in any significant way will effect your participation in the class session and will also be reflected in your project score under the "Evidence of Process" category in the rubric.

Project Work Session

This rest of the class session is designated as a work day for VFX Project 1. The time should be used, as much as possible, for Post Production work on the project. The resources available on the VFX Project 1 Page are meant to assist you in your work. In addition, all tutorial assignments for the last several weeks of class may be useful for developing your content for this project. If you need to revisit or catch up on any of them, that would be a good way to continue developing your project. Our critique from ealier in the class session should provide some guidance as to your next steps in development. Also, the professor is a useful resource for many of the processes you might need to complete your work or to get feedback, suggestions, and recommendations.
