Montage Video Assignment
During Class 3, we had looked at vocabulary, equipment, and workflow. We also spent time putting those things into practice with the goal of creating a short video. We worked to establish a general workflow:
Plan -> Shoot/Capture -> Transfer Footage -> Edit -> Finalize/Export
Today, we will continue this work. During today's class session, you should be in a position to edit your montage. Focus on one singular sequence and one layer of video where there are "jump" cuts between shots. Focus on marking clips to put into sequence and trimming clips as they are added. Make sure to include your text selection from Mcluhan as a title(s) in the sequence and include a countdown slate at the beginning.
This video assignment is designed as an opportunity to practice editing and general video production skills.
Before our next class session, you will transfer one video file to the instructor. Videos should be submitted via D2L. The submitted videos will be projected and briefly discussed. Your video should include the following:
- Countdown/Slate at beginning of project
- Titles from reading selections
- Digital video footage you have captured
- Edited in Premiere with montage strategy
- Digital video exported and saved from Premiere
